Scaredy Squirrel

In Room 17 we have been reading the book Scaredy Squirrel by Melanie Watt. Like Scaredy Squirrel we are learning to take more risks in our learning we have started this by setting ourselves goals we would like to achieve. Let's fly into learning this year!

Welcome class of 2017

Kia Ora, Room 17! Welcome to the beginning of a GREAT term and a new school year! I hope you have all had an amazing holiday, I can't wait to hear about all the wonderful things you have done. We have some extremely exciting things happening in Term 1, especially our Sleepover at School which is jam packed full of new learning adventures. This blog will be updated on a regular basis so be sure to check it for any notices, upcoming school events and amazing Room 17 learning. I look forward to seeing all your lovely faces at school on Tuesday 31st February. (Please remember to bring your hats to school as it is a hat term)

Peter Pan Jr. Production

Wow! What an amazing production, so many talented Pinehill students!
Room 17 did such a great job in the many scenes they participated in.

Our little gardens

In Room 17 we are learning to be responsible by looking after our own plants. There are a range of plants from herbs to vegetables - chives, lettuce, spinach, radish, cress and many more.












Finished Bridges

Room 17 finished their bridges off by painting them. They choose colours they thought would look best on their bridges. Some choose colours to make roads on them.

Constructing Bridges

It is great to see Room 17 working as a team to problem solve. Each groups goal was to replicate the bridge they had been researching. We used recycled items to build the bridges that were brought from home. I can't wait to see what they will look like when they are finished!
